Objective:
1. Develop an efficient Agrobacterium-based wheat transformation and regeneration protocol.
2. Once the protocol is optimized, establish routine protocols and processes for transformation to support Cooperator and ARS research needs.
Approach:
The cooperator will develop and optimize a protocol for transforming and regenerating transgenic wheat plants. They will then scale-up this procedure so that it will be possible to generate the numbers of transgenic plants required for Cooperator and ARS wheat research.
