DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5550106 Interpretive Summary: The integrated plastic contamination monitoring system for cotton module feeders is made up of two stand-alone hardware systems that record image data for plastic that accumulates on the dispersing cylinders and video of the module condition and process used to unwrap round modules that may have resulted in plastic accumulation on the dispersing cylinders. The “Inspection Report Builder” software was written to help combine the data collected by the two sub-systems that make up the integrated plastic contamination monitoring system. The software creates a comma separated value (CSV) file that assembles the image, video, and associated meta data into a report format that allows the end user to easily extract and view the data on a module by module basis. The software substantially reduces the time associated with compiling and formatting the data from the two sub-systems thereby facilitating efforts by cotton gin managers to train employees on module handling practices that minimize the risk of plastic contamination and module wrap manufacturers in evaluating the durability of various wrap products before ginning.
