All three USDA-ARS ginning laboratories have or are in the process of developing solutions to actively and passively detect and remove plastic from seed cotton and lint. This presentation addresses what has been and is being done at each ginning laboratory with emphasis on Visual Imaging Plastic Removal system (VIPR) and Module Feeder Inspection System (MFIS). Also, the current operating status of the labs due to COVID-19 protocols covering daily operation and travel. |
