Interpretive Summary: Biochar-based amendments have received widespread attention in both the academic and the popular press. Despite this attention, almost no generalizable recommendations have emerged regarding amendment rates, techniques, or expected agronomic outcomes. This article describes the PNW Biochar Atlas, a web-based set of decision support tools to supply soil scientists, growers, and other enthusiasts with information to predict how a specific biochar could interact with specific soils to improve soil health, and ultimately improve crop yields.
