Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The invention describes the development of a firelong, mini-firelog, stove pellet and fire-starter comprised of all-natural renewable resources. Besides being totally biobased, developed logs have several distinct advantages. The developed product utilizes renewable biomass as a raw material, produces little or no ash content, and is environmentally compatible as they burn cleaner giving off much reduced volatile organic compounds (VOC) compared to their commerial counterparts that contain petroleum products. Finding new uses for surplus and low-value residues will improve rural economy, directly benefiting American Farmers. Log manufacturing would create jobs in urban areas as well.
