Objective:
Demonstrate the effectiveness of agricultural best management practices at surface and tile edge-of-field locations.

Approach:
Using a before after control impact design, ARS will collect and analyze data from a paired surface and tile drainage sites to assess the impact of prevailing and best management practices. Summary data will be shared with the producer, soil and water districts, at field days and professional meetings. The initial treatment will be the use of gypsum as a surface amendment.
