Objective:
Evaluate carbon dynamics and soil health in turfgrass systems.
Approach:
Soil and plant tissue samples will be collected from the established turfgrass research plots at Maricopa Agricultural Center (MAC). Soil samples (cores) will be collected from two different depths (0-15 cm and 15-30 cm) using a hydraulic soil probe. Thereafter, soil samples will be processed at the Soil Health Lab (UA) and Arid Land Agricultural Research Center (ALARC). Relevant information on specific agronomic practices, history of the site, water sources, water quality, and any special incidents will be recorded. Soil survey and measurement data will be organized in Microsoft Excel and will be statistically analyzed using the R programming language.
