Objective:
Generation of a pen-side test to detect Senecavirus A in swine that could be deployed in the field.
Approach:
ARS will propagate, concentrate, and inactivate Senecavirus A (SVA) for generation of monoclonal antibodies. The antibodies will tested on lateral flow test strips to evaluate the test as a rapid portable strategy suitable for pen-side detection. Samples of known positive/negative status collected from previous SVA experimental challenge studies will be used to assess test performance.
