Objective:
USDA and CATIE (Tropical Agriculture Research and Higher Education) scientists will conduct collaborative research in production techniques, evaluation of promising cacao and coffee clones, and nutrient uptake in support of small-holder producers in Central America, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Approach:
Improve cacao and coffee productivity through the study of major production constraints, the evaluation and release of superior clones, and dissemination of information through publications and popoular articles.
