Welcome to our Garden!
Because of all the construction around the garden site, we planted the garden later than usual this year, and our growing area is reduced. Hopefully once the construction is done, the garden next year will be even bigger and better. We went out, spent several hours rototilling and planted a few delicata squashes and many brassicas, including broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and kale.
If you are in the building, we invite you to join us and volunteer to tend the garden. If you are not so nearby, you are still very welcome to visit us online and watch our garden grow! For more info on our Garden, please see the Garden Info page.
Volunteer Requests
While the garden is starting up, we will not have regular field tending sessions. Notices of garden tending days will out out to the garden mailing list. If you are in the building and interested in volunteering, please see the Volunteer page to get on our mailing list.
Latest Garden Announcements & Highlights
6/6/13: Even though the garden is a little fenced-in at the moment, we still managed to plant several rows of brassicas (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and kale), and a row of delicata squash, arugula and a few basil plants. Thanks to our hardworking rototilling squad who had to rototill the field without the usual assistance from a tractor. Hopefully we will get to plant the rest of the garden soon and get at least a few crops this year.
10/13/12: We're in the news again! Mary Flaherty has written a wonderful article about us in the local e-newsletter, The Albany Patch. For that and other articles about our garden, please see the Articles and Press page.
