Volunteering

Thank you for your interest! We love volunteers.  Unfortunately we can only currently accept volunteers who work at this location, but if you are interested in helping out, please contact us so we can work something out.

Volunteers do a wide range of tasks for the garden, for example:

  • plant starts and seeds
  • rake and prep soil
  • lay irrigation
  • harvest produce
  • weed
  • work with the elementary school kids when they visit
  • deliver produce to the Food Bank
  • and much more!

Each week there is a Field Leader, in charge of organizing the volunteers, figuring out the tasks for that week, checking irrigation and monitoring for pests and potential problems. Usually garden tending is done on Thursdays but they can be done at any time, especially during planting or harvesting season. An email is sent out by the Field Leader to the list of Garden Volunteers and the volunteers show up as their schedule allows.

Please email the webmaster and they will put you on the USDA Garden Volunteers email list
