Location: Range Management Research

Project Number: 3050-12610-001-023-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 1, 2025
End Date: Jul 31, 2029

Objective:
Build on disaster preparedness and response around drought, wildfire, dust and other hazards in the Southwest United States via three functional areas: convening scientists and stakeholders, research and science synthesis, and tool development and technology transfer.

Approach:
The Cooperator will assist with expanding disaster resilience in the Southwest by leveraging and growing existing networks (drought learning network; southwest agroforestry action network) and decision support resources (dust mitigation handbook; forest resources library). Relevant research, convening, and decision-support tool development will support efforts to build disaster resilience.
