Objective:
Contribute to Objective 1 of the Proposal: Genes on the shelf. Specifically , help determine resistance gene function through transgenic over expression and/or gene editing.

Approach:
Design and build constructs and transform them into embryogenic callus and/or bulk meristem tissues of select grape genotypes such as Chardonnay; produce and confirm transgenic vines and provide necessary molecular characterization of the transgenic vines. Attend annual meetings and contribute to reporting.
