Objective:
Perform basic research to improve delivery of and support regulatory approval for therapeutic molecules to plants molecules to provide plants with immunity against insect-vectored plant pathogens.
Approach:
Greenhouse assays and controlled field studies will be used to identify the most effective methods for delivering or applying therapeutic molecules to plants to provide them with immunity against insect-vectored plant pathogens, including Liberibacter solanacearum. Pathogens presence and titers levels will be measured using conventional and quantitative PCR.
