Objective:
The objective is to produce purified recombinant proteins of interest for usage in the generation of novel assays and reagent development for Risk Group 4 Pathogens to enhance and develop diagnostic capacities.
Approach:
The USDA will identify proteins of need for the development of novel assays and reagents for development of reagents to Risk Group 4 pathogens and coordinate with the cooperator the selection of five proteins for expression and purification. The cooperator will order the genes for the proteins of interest synthesized and utilize plasmids to express and purify approximately 3mg of purified protein utilizing affinity chromatography.
