Research Project: Technology Development to Support Land Management, Monitoring and Research

Location: Range Management Research

Project Number: 3050-21600-001-039-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Aug 15, 2022
End Date: Jul 2, 2024

Objective:
Collaboratively design and develop open source technologies that will support land management, monitoring and research, and support open access to and use of these technologies.

Approach:
The requirements for an initial set of mobile applications will be defined through a collaborative, participatory (co-production) process involving the ARS the Bureau of Land Management as well as the Cooperator. All organizations will, as necessary and appropriate, also directly consult with future users of the applications. ARS scientists and technicians will then work together with the Cooperator to initiate design and development of the technologies, and integration with new and existing ARS tools, including the Landscape Data Commons and EDIT, among others.
