Objective:
The objective of this work is to improve precision application of fertilizer nutrients by developing greater understanding of soil properties and how they interact with the cash crop.
Approach:
Plots located at two locations in Kentucky will be evaluated using a VERIS P4000 for various soil properties in paired plots, where one plot is fertilized and one plot is an unfertilized control. Soils data from the Veris, as well as within-season crop growth data, and crop yield will be used to evaluate the fertilizer nutrient use efficiency geospatially within each field.
