Objective:
The primary objective will be develop a method to produce sterile Atlantic salmon that contains a tag so the product will be traceable. A method to produce sterile fish cost effectively for the aquaculture industry would be a cost savings for the industry due to the reduced need for lighting to prevent maturity.

Approach:
Atlantic salmon eggs will be treated so that gonad development will not occur thus producing sterile fish. The cooperator will be providing the know how and expertise to preform the procedure.
