Research Project: New Approaches to Extend the Storage and Shelf-Life of Table Grapes

Location: Commodity Protection and Quality Research

Project Number: 2034-43000-041-006-T
Project Type: Trust Fund Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: May 1, 2021
End Date: Apr 30, 2024

Objective:
Evaluate new postharvest treatments for control of postharvest diseases of table grapes.

Approach:
Laboratory and cold storage experiments will be conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of new postharvest treatments in controlling gray mold and other diseases in stored table grapes. Both artificially inoculated fruit and commercially harvested fruit (naturally infected fruit) will be used for the experiments. The effects of these treatments on the fruit quality will also be assessed.
