Research Project: Enhanced Mitigation and Detection of Basil, Cucurbit, and Impatiens Downy Mildews

Location: Foreign Disease-Weed Science Research

Project Number: 8044-22000-052-003-I
Project Type: Interagency Reimbursable Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2021
End Date: Aug 31, 2023

Objective:

Approach:
The project team will: 1) Utilize mtDNA diagnostic assay and FISH assay to screen propagative materials for impatiens downy mildew pathogens; 2) Develop recombinase polymerase isothermal diagnostic assay for impatiens downy mildew pathogens; and 3) Analyze population structure of impatiens downy mildew populations during the current growing season.
