Imaging Resources
headline bar

As part of our research, both single- and dual-camera imaging systems for use on agricultural aircraft have been developed.  These systems were demonstrated as part of the Aerial Application Technology Research Session held as part of the National Agricultural Aviation Association's Annual Ag Aviation Expo.  As part of this year's Expo, we will once again be conducting an instructional workshop demonstrating some of the image systems we have assembled and provide up-to-date information on these systems. We will also demonstrate how to use the commercial image processing software Pix4DMapper to process a set of geotagged red-green-blue (RGB) and near-infrared (NIR) images acquired with a two-camera imaging system. The images will be converted into georeferenced image mosaics, surface elevation models, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) maps and prescription maps for precision aerial application. Any participants are welcome to attend the workshop if you are interested in seeing the camera systems and/or the process to convert images into useful maps.
