Interpretive Summary: Influences of drought stress on Mexican rice borer preference, in association with changes in nutritional components in the plant, were determined. The characteristics of leaves that influence preference for oviposition were prioritized, with physical characteristics being over-riding factors. Preferences between varieties have been connected mainly to levels of certain free amino acids in the plant.
