Publication Type: Abstract Only Publication Acceptance Date: 7/3/2009 Publication Date: N/A Citation: N/A Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Grape root borer (GRB) is an important pest of grapes in the Eastern U.S. The larvae feed on grape roots, reducing vine vigor and increasing susceptibility to pathogens and drought. A study was conducted in 3 vineyards to test whether infestations could be identified using acoustic methods. Sounds were detected where a larva was recovered, and we are conducting analyses to distinguish GRB sounds from signals by other insects. |
