Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The physiology, systematics and ecology of the species that currently compose the actinobacterial genus Lechevalieria is presented. The phylogenetic position of the taxa within this genus, including Lecehvalieria aerocolonigenes, Lechevalieria flava, Lechevalieria fradiae, and Lechevalieria xinjiangensis relative to the species in other genera within the family Actinosynnemataceae is discussed. Methods for isolation, preservation, and characterization are detailed.
