Such a case is Mediterranean fruit fly in northern Central America. Biological control, in combination with Sterile Insect Technique, may contribute to a barrier to the pests northern expansion. New parasitoids recently discovered in Africa might be well suited for mass-rearing and release along the Mexico/Guatemala border. |
