Technical Abstract:
We have recently carried out several experiments with regard to the electrical properties of freezing soils. The experiments ascertain the change in the electrical resistance as a freeze front advances in the soils. We will describe the experimental technique and present information on the effects of temperature, depth, and water content on the soil electrical resistance.
