Technical Abstract:
Insect pest management in stored products that are to be certified as Organic is reviewed and discussed. Procedures and regulations are listed, integrated control strategies are described, and a current list is given of the insecticides that are currently allowed under the program, as well as some likely prospects for the future. Persons or institutions marketing raw grains or processed food products as organic must certified by an USDA Accredited Organic Certifying Agent or a USDA Approved State Organic Program to sell, label, or represent their products as organic or made with organic ingredients.
