Technical Abstract: Our contribution to this annual report is a summary of research accomplishments for 2007 in germplasm enhancement for RWA resistance in barley at the USDA-ARS Wheat, Peanuts and other Field Crops Research Unit, Stillwater, OK. RWA is a serious pest of barley in the intermountain regions of the western US. This report gives the current status of development of adapted RWA resistant germplasm lines as well as any new information found on the inheritance of resistance in lines released by our unit. Industry and state breeders alike will not only have adapted germplasm lines but also the genetic information needed to most effectively integrate the resistance into their breeding programs. Personnel and recent publications are also listed.
