Technical Abstract: The Cullars Rotation is the oldest, continuous soil fertility experiment in the South and the second oldest cotton study in the world. An historical marker was dedicated at the Cullars Rotation experiment on November 3, 2006. An all-time record cotton lint yield of 2050 lb lint ac-1 was produced on the complete N-P-K fertilizer treatment. Good yields of wheat (54 bu ac-1) and corn (110 bu ac-1) were recorded for this treatment, despite the drought conditions that occurred in Alabama. Timely rainfall at this location and the long-term benefits of conservation tillage contributed to the high yields during this dry year.
