Proceedings Wisconsin Annual Potato Meetings. 21:95-96. Interpretive Summary: Technical Abstract: Potato tubers have an axial, stem to bud polarity that is apparent at all stages of growth and development. This polarity is most evident in elongate potatoes, but is also found in “round” varieties. These differences between the stem end and other regions of the tuber establish the context for research focused on “trouble at the stem end”. This research includes work on sugar end defect and stem end darkening. |
