Dr. Stover joined the Horticulture and Breeding Unit of the U. S. Horticultural Research Laboratory (USHRL) in April 2008. In his research program he expects to contribute to developing improved citrus varieties and production practices. The immediate focus of this work is development of solutions to citrus greening, both through developing resistant varieties and identifying opportunities for profitable citrus production using greening-susceptible varieties. Prior to joining the USHRL, Dr. Stover was the curator of the National Clonal Germplasm Repository at Davis, California from 2004-2008. For seven years, Stover was at the Indian River Research and Education Center of the University of Florida, where he worked on horticultural issues affecting the Florida citrus industry. The USHRL Horticulture and Breeding Unit interacts collaboratively with many other research groups nationally and internationally.
