Inputs of phosphorus (P)
are essential for profitable crop and livestock agriculture. But P export
in watershed runoff can accelerate the eutrophication--aging of a body
of water--of receiving fresh waters. Increased P use has created regional
imbalances in feed and fertilizer and P output in farm produce, and
soil P is now in excess of crop needs. This publication provides solutions
on how to reduce P losses and increase P use efficiency. Color, 44 pages.
