Specimen Preparation Guidelines: Sternorrhyncha
headline bar

  • Most Sternorrhyncha specimens need to be slide-mounted for accurate identification. Slide-mounting is not required for submission, but if you have the resources, you are strongly encouraged to make an attempt at mounting your own specimens. Such an effort on your part will dramatically increase the turn-around time of your identification. The links below provide detailed instructions on slide-mounting the various groups of Sternorrhyncha:
- Aphids
- Scales & Mealybugs
- Whiteflies
  • Psylloidea should be submitted in 70% ethanol.

  • Please ensure that all slides and vials are individually labeled with collection locality data.
