How to get to the Bioscience Research Building (011A)

The Systematic Mycology and Microbiology Laboratory is located in the Bioscience Research Building (Building 011A) on the west side of the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC-West) in Beltsville, Maryland. (View a map of BARC.)

Follow the Travel Directions to Beltsville Area and Beltsville Agricultural Reseach Center (BARC) and then use the local directions below.

Due to increased security at BARC, all visitors without a USDA badge must report to Building 003 to sign the visitors' log and obtain a visitor badge. Visitor badges must be returned at the end of each day. The hours for obtaining/returning visitor badges are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Local Directions

Exit off Washington Beltway (I-495) at exit 25, Rt. 1 North (Baltimore Ave.) After about 1/4 mile you will come to a Shell gas station and see the 14-story National Agricultural Library on the right Turn left at the light onto South Drive to enter the research center Immediately turn right onto Circle Drive and drive in front of the row of brick buildings. You may obtain a visitor pass in Building 003, the large brick building with a clocktower At the end of the row of buildings turn left. Ahead of you down the hill is the Bioscience Research Building (Building 011A), the only building on the right of North Drive
