The Soybean and Nitrogen Fixation Research Unit is located on the campus of North Carolina State University. Staff scientists in the unit conduct cooperative research with non-Federal scientists and students at NCSU.
Soybean varieties released by the Unit are grown commercially and made available to the public through NC Foundation Seed. Released germplasm is sent throughout the US and world.
The unit cooperates with other breeders at institutions across the US. The United Soybean Board and NC Soybean Producers Association have generously provided funding for many projects over the years.
Partnerships with industry include Material Transfer Agreements with large agricultural companies.
