|Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation 2 - RUSLE2 Cooperators|
RUSLE2 was developed as a joint project involving the USDA-Agricultural Research Service (ARS), National Sedimentation Laboratory, Oxford, Mississippi; the Department of Biosystems Engineering and Environmental Sciences, University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
The ARS had overall leadership for development of RUSLE2 and provided a major portion of the funds that supported University of Tennessee personnel working on the project. Also, the ARS was the major contributor of the scientific and technical information used in RUSLE2. Robert Wells, Research Hydraulic Engineer, National Sedimentation Laboratory, is the principal contact for the ARS involvement in the RUSLE2 development project.
The University of Tennessee provided leadership for RUSLE2 software development and developed most of the computer software used in the RUSLE2 program. The University also participated in developing the scientific and technical information used in RUSLE2. Daniel Yoder, Department of Biosystems Engineering and Environmental Science, is the principal RUSLE2 contact for the University of Tennessee.
The primarily user of RUSLE2 is the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Meeting NRCS' needs for RUSLE2 was a major requirement for the development of RUSLE2. NRCS provided guidance and review during the development of RUSLE2. Also, NRCS provided leadership in verification of RUSLE2 and in database development by developing a major, comprehensive national RUSLE2 database. RUSLE2 users should refer to this database as their first choice for RUSLE2 input values. Giulio Ferruzzi (Portland, OR) is the principal RUSLE2 contact for the NRCS.
