Mission
The Arkansas Children’s Nutrition Center conducts cutting-edge research to understand how maternal-child nutrition and physical activity optimize health and development. Our research is advanced through multi-disciplinary, team-based research that examine biology and child development at a very fundamental, molecular level (cell signaling and energetics, changes in the metabolome, epigenome, and gut microbiota) while in parallel to consider in clinical studies how these factors impact whole-body physiology, body composition, brain neurodevelopment and behavior.
