Responsibilities

I am a geneticist with the responsibility of curation of the national peanut, cowpea and mung bean collections. These crop collections represent a vast amount of useful genetic diversity necessary for crop improvement.  My primary responsibility is to acquire, preserve and maintain this genetic diversity by regular regenerations and make the collections available to interested researchers in the US and worldwide. My research goals include genetic characterization of the collections in collaborations with other researchers using morphological, cytological and molecular techniques to understand the genetic structure of the collection.  The characterization data is available on the public GRIN Global database.
