Responsibilities

 

I am the field research technician for the vegetable crops program. I am responsible for coordinating and assisting in soil preparation, soil and water management, planting, fertilizing irrigation, pest control, and cultivation of vegetable crops regeneration/characterization/evaluation in both the field and greenhouse. I coordinate and assist in the harvesting and cleaning of fruit, seed cleaning, seed counting and weighing, collection and recording of morphological data, and taking photographs for GRIN. I also maintain the greenhouses and their systems used by the vegetable team, and assist in curation research projects.
