Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Diagnosis of abortion in cattle is a major problem because etiology of more than half of abortions is not established. Among the protozoa, Neospora caninum, Tritrichomonas foetus, and Sarcocystis cruzi can cause bovine abortion. Of these N. caninum is the most recently discovered cause of abortion. This review briefly summarizes methods to diagnose protozoal abortion.
