Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: An overview of the progress for the Feed the Future funded African Goat Project will be presented. The overview will include progress on producing a goat genome assembly from a San Clemente goat. Additional progress will be reported for phenotype and sample collection from African goat populations and the status fo genotyping these animals. The final discussion point will be on integration of genomic tools into the community based breeding programs.
