Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Thirteen sweetpotato genotypes from the 2008 National Sweetpotato Collaborator Trials were evaluated for yield and quality in replicated field trials at the US Vegetable Laboratory (USVL), Charleston, SC. Four replications of each genotype were grown in single-row, 25 plant plots, which were arranged in a RCB experimental design. Plots were planted on 17 June and harvested on 8 October 2008 (114 days after planting). After harvest, roots were cured, washed, separated into four grades (jumbo, US #1, canners, culls), and weighed by grade. Two genotypes from the program at North Carolina State University (‘Covington’ and ‘NC99-573’) had the highest yields at the USVL in 2008.
