Technical Abstract: Cropland CEAP (Conservation Effects Assessment Project) was initiated in 2003 to provide a scientific basis for a national assessment of conservation practices by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). This paper introduces a series of manuscripts that provide a comprehensive overview of the science, technology, and information emerging from this natural resources research program.
