Interpretive Summary: Quadris and Moncut, when applied in-furrow during the planting of no-till spring barley, increased seedling height and reduced the percent of crown roots with Rhizoctonia.

Technical Abstract: Both Quadris and Moncut 70 DF significantly increased seedling height and length of the first true leaf compared to the control treatment, although there was no significant difference between the in-furrow treatments. In-furrow application of these fungicides also reduced the percent infected crown roots, but had no effect on the total number of seminal or crown roots per plants. In-furrow application of Quadris or Moncut 70 DF, if economical, could offer an additional tool for management of root diseases in no-till grain production systems by protecting young seedlings.
