Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The focus of a new Michigan State University Extension bulletin revolves around helping Extension agents, NRCS, consultants and other agricultural educators understand the interrelatedness of pest management strategies. An interdisciplinary team of specialists worked together to produce this publication, which is modeled on 1998's Michigan Field Crop Ecology. Michigan Field Crop Pest Ecology and Management (E-2704) combines farmer case studies with chapters on insect, plant pathogens, weeds and nematodes, featuring alternative pest management strategies. This volume, written in lay language, will help readers understand the ecological principles that can be used to manage field crop pests in new and more effective ways.
