Tzean, L.S. Hsieh, and W.J. Wu), is reviewed briefly for Inoculum (the newsletter of the Mycological Society of America. Despite some apparent flaws in the identifications of a few of the 66 included species, this book is an outstanding addition to the Asian literature on entomopathogenic fungi and an important addition to the global literature on these fungi. Its strongest virtues include exceptionally high quality sets of line drawings and color and gray-scale photographs illustrating each included species printed with extraordinary care on very high quality paper and with a very strong and durable binding. Despite its few minor faults, this book is highly recommended to all who deal with insect fungi and to all mycologists as a wonderful resource for introductory courses in mycology. |
