Technical Abstract: Strategic decisions for beef enterprises with regard to mating systems, feeding programs, genetic resource use, and marketing endpoints require conversion of information bases developed within specific agriculture scientific disciplines. Managers of beef enterprises need to create a knowledge base by correctly interpreting this fragmented information. This sknowledge will be used to evaluate the risks associated with specific strategic decisions. A dynamic simulation model with the capability to aggregate the information into the knowledge base has been attached to user-friendly graphical interface to assist cattle producers in the decision-making process.
