Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: New Features to View on the Maize Genome Database: o Maps and raw map data: QTL maps. o Sequences of core markers, select a core marker from the list, scroll down to external database keys and click on a key. Core markers define the integrated map bins. o Self-addressing e-mail to maize cooperators. o Query probes by chromosome or bin location of loci detected. Many probes may be requested from UMC RFLP lab. o Exploit the Enzyme Commission classification provided for gene products, to explore functionally related sequences in SwissProt. Example: malate dehydrogenase. After clicking on EC#, click on a broader class, e.g., 1.1.1%. o Have scores? Bypass MAPMAKER by pasting portions of your map scores into query window for scores to match but first look at score representation in the database. o Previous lists of new data.
