Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: A set of four alfalfa plots were harvested at approximately 35 day intervals for a total of four cuttings per plot during the summer of 1995. Herbage and juice dry matter (DM) yields were 13.5 and 4.05 t/ha, respectively. Soluble protein and particulate protein concentrates based on yields from juice in 1993 and 1994 were approximately 0.6 and 1.6 t/ha, respectively. Transgenic alfalfa creates the opportunity of very valuable juice products such as industrially valuable enzymes in addition to traditional products.
