Because the species was placed in a genus that is not now accepted, it was transferred to the currently recognized genus Pichia. Technical Abstract: Hansenula represents a synonym of the genus Pichia, and because of this, Hansenula ofunaensis is transferred to Pichia. An emended physiological characterization of this yeast species is provided. |
